can a granite surface plate be resurfaced, removing pitted areas?

Many granite repair companies (usually if they install they repair) can do this without really resurfacing it. They actually take components of a similar colored granite and blend it with an epoxy and fill the pitting. then buff it out and polish the whole top. The do the same with cracks, and gouges. Having it completely resurfaced can be very expensive and it will likely not be able to be done on premises.
Call your local granite supplier from the yellow pages.
